Book a Tee Time

History

Around 1880, Argentina approached its final organization as a nation.

There was much that could and should be done, both socially and culturally.

The Jockey Club of Buenos Aires, founded on April 15, 1882, arose precisely in this context of creative euphoria.

In 1883 the Club took over the administration of the Argentine Hippodrome, which was built on May 1876. However, the great equestrian venture undertaken by the Jockey Club was the construction of a new modern racecourse in San Isidro, north of the capital.

In those lands, two golf courses of 18 holes each were constructed, Blue (6,229 yards) and Red (6,628 yards). They were designed by the same designer who created Cypress Point, Augusta National, Royal Melbourne and Crystal Downs: specialist Alister MacKenzie. These courses were open to the public in 1930.

In 1940 began the construction of a superb English-style building, the Club House.
